Special Permanent Gantry System
Alternative Access Logistics were approached to design, manufacture, install, test & hand over specialist gantry system for maintenance of the lighting and heating systems in the roof area of the sports hall at K2 Leisure Centre Crawley gantry was designed to span 20.5M on aluminium tracks in opposite walls of the gym with complete movement and with integral “Hop-Ups” to allow tactile access to the roof.
The special modular gantry spanned the entire width of the Gym Hall which comprimised of 4 individual modules. This was manufactured from high grade aluminium with central steel "U" frames connecting the modules together.
The aluminium KOT246 tracks were supported on galvanised steel wall support brackets at approximately 2.2M centres. The Gantry rails were complete with mechanical end stops to guard against horizontal over travel.
The gantry hop-up system allow safe access for operatives to reacg the underside of the main roof fabri of the sports hall for cleaning and light maintenance activities. The hop-ups were designed to remain on the gantry at all times and be brought into service in any position along the length of the platform area of the Gantry.
