The Boyne Bridge, Ireland
Modular Space Frame Systems
Alternative Access Logistics provided a space frame access platforms for the Boyne Bridge in Ireland. The brief entailed pylon head access and under deck access for construction of the bridge. Long span platforms were required to provide unhindered access to the side edges of the deck.
This access challenge was compounded by the sloping piers, however this was readily resolved through the use of separate long span platforms astride the piers and link bridges between to enable complete access. The large spanning capability of the platform and the large work area allowed the works to proceed efficiently.
The modular access platforms were constructed under the land side of the bridge and once suspended, were then manoeuvred through the bridge piers and along the complete underside of the bridge deck.
The unique flexibility of the modular space frame platform allowed Alternative Access Logistics to provide a tailored solution to enable successful completion of the bridge construction works.
